Interchange Team Members Promoted to New Roles

By Ahmie Baum, CFP® CFBA

Interchange Capital Partners, a Family Business Advisory Firm based in Pittsburgh, PA, has promoted three veteran team members to new, enhanced roles within the organization, taking effect in April 2024.

Brian Baum, Chris Duerr, and Kendra Kasznel Reilly assume higher leadership roles with Interchange Capital Partners after building exceptional track records over the years. In taking on these new responsibilities, they reaffirm their focus on client-based solutions and innovative strategies that support the growing needs of families.

All three candidates have worked with Interchange for a number of years, fostering strong relationships with our clients and partners. Their work has helped establish Interchange as groundbreakers in family business advisory services. We believe their enhanced responsibilities can further Interchange’s mission to provide high-quality consultation and strategy development for our clients.

Brian D. Baum, CFP®, CEPA®: President

Interchange has named Brian D. Baum to the role of President, promoting him from his previous role as Managing Director. As President, Brian will steer Interchange’s market growth and strategic decisions, as well as reinforce Interchange’s supportive corporate culture, focusing on meeting our clients’ complex needs.

A Penn State graduate, Brian is a Certified Exit Planning Advisor and holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation. He’s Co-Founder and past President of the Pittsburgh Exit Planning Chapter, a business forum that deals with exit strategies and business transitions.

Brian will optimize Interchange’s operations to be more efficient, productive, and compliant, overseeing Interchange’s finances, budget, and the recruitment of new talent along the way.

Going forward, Brian will be “the face of Interchange” in the industry, serving to spark innovation to keep Interchange competitive and interact with our client base. We believe appointing Brian as President can highlight his unique abilities and talents.

Chris Duerr, CFA, CFP®, CEPA®: Managing Director, Investments

Chris Duerr, an Interchange Capital Partner team member for over 10 years, has been named Managing Director of Investments. Chris, one of only a handful of financial professionals with both Chartered Financial Analyst® and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ credentials, is poised to lead Interchange’s investment strategy and risk management efforts.

Chris is a University of Pittsburgh graduate. He’s also a Certified Exit Planning Advisor, helping business owners transition to new phases of life while yielding maximum value from assets and investments.

Chris will partner directly with Interchange’s stakeholders and investors to build better business relationships. He’ll lead Interchange’s drive toward improving technology and sustainable practices in the investment market, allocating resources to bolster efficiency and results.

Kendra Kasznel Reilly, CFP®, CIMA®, CEPA®: Managing Director, Relationship Management

Kendra Kasznel Reilly has been named Managing Director of Interchange’s Relationship Management. She will continue to collaborate with families and advisors in key areas of Private wealth and family office, serving as the main contact for current clients and leading efforts in pursuing new ones.

Kendra graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a double major in communications and English writing. She earned an Executive Certificate in Financial Planning through Duquesne University and has since earned her CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation, Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®) credential, and Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA) credential.

As Managing Director, Kendra will develop blueprints for improving relationships and finding customized strategies for Interchange clients. She will work closely with regulatory agencies to maintain compliance and lead Interchange’s drive toward improving technology and sustainable practices. She will streamline processes, compliance, and best practices. Kendra will also mentor up-and-coming Interchange team members, concentrating on succession planning and shaping professional futures.
